Prime Minister Goh Chok Tong has had more bilateral meetings with Defence Ministers here for the Shangri La Dialogue.
During his meeting with the Japanese Defence Minister Shigeru Ishiba, they discussed challenges facing East Asia, including North Korea.
Mr Goh also held talks with French Defence Minister, Mrs Michelle Alliot-Marie.
The Prime Minister's press secretary says they exchanged views on regional and global issues, including Iraq, the threat of terrorism and developments in ASEAN.
Both of them also noted that the partnership between Singapore and France was already a strong and deep one.
