Singapore to host major security conference

Singapore is hosting a major security conference this weekend that will discuss among other topics, terrorism in South East Asia.
 
Organised by the London-based International Institute for Strategic Studies, the high-profile list of speakers and participants includes US Deputy Secretary of Defence Paul Wolfowitz, as well as defence ministers from the  UK, Japan, India, as well as the region.
 
Singapore;s Senior Minister Lee Kuan Yew will open the conference dubbed “The Shangri-La Dialogue” on Friday evening.
 
Apart from terrorism in the region, the conference will also touch on the US’ strategy in the Asia Pacific and China’s security policy.
