Brunei To Participate in World Security Conference

Brunei will join 18 other countries in the World IISS Asia Security Conference.  The Shangri-La Dialogue will be held for three days starting from today in Singapore.
 
The Conference is the first ever Asia Pacific Forum and it is expected to bring together some 15 Defence Ministers from the Asia Pacific, US, Britain, Canada, and Russia.
 
More than 120 Senior Officials, Parliamentarians and experts from 18 countries will participate in the Asia Security Issue discussions.
 
The International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) is organising the Forum.
 
The Deputy Minister of Defence, Retired Major General Pg Hj Ibnu Ba’asith will lead Brunei’s delegation to the Forum.
 
Among security issues to be discussed are China’s Security Policy, US Strategy in Asia Pacific, Europe’s Role in Asia Pacific, Non-Proliferation in Asia Pacific and Terrorist and Transnational Threats in South East Asia.
