Global Strategic Review 2011 Keynote Address: Amr Moussa

Amr Moussa, recently Secretary General of the Arab League and now Egyptian presidential candidate, gave the opening Keynote Address of the 2011 Global Strategic Review. 

 

"In the next few years, you are going to see a Middle East based on democracy, on reform, and on serious and genuine economic and social development..." he argued in his address.  Read More

Global Strategic Review 2011 First Pleanry Session: Strategic Change in the Middle East and North Africa

In the First Plenary Session a panel including the journalists and analysts Sultan Sooud Al Qassemi, Issandr El Amrani, Karim Sadjadpour and IISS Senior Fellow for Middle East Security Emile Hokayem considered  'Strategic change in the Middle East and North Africa '. Later Saturday HRH Prince Turki Al Faisal, Chairman, Board of Directors, King Faisal Center for Research and Islamic Studies called for a WMD Free Zone in the region.

Antonio Patriota, Minister of External Relations, Brazil speaks in the 3rd Plenary Session 'Crises, Conflict and Intervention: Global Perspectives'

Antonio Patriota, the Minister of External Relations of Brazil and Ambassador Hardeep Singh Puri, Permanent Representative of India to the United Nations  provided perspectives from rising powers on 'Crises, conflict and intervention' in the Third Plenary Session of the GSR.
