Consulting Senior Fellow
Stephen Fidler became a Consulting Senior Fellow at the IISS in February 2009, associated principally with the Institute’s Economics and Conflict Resolution programme. He is the Brussels Editor of the Wall Street Journal and Dow-Jones Newswires. He joined the Wall Street Journal in 2009 as European Finance Editor. Previously, he was a senior journalist at the Financial Times newspaper for more than 20 years. He held the positions of International Capital Markets Editor, Latin America Editor, Chief Reporter and, from 2005 to 2008, Defence and Security Editor. From 1998 to 2001 he was US Diplomatic Editor based in Washington. Stephen was previously a correspondent for Reuters, with assignments in New York, the Middle East and London. He has made frequent appearances on television and radio and has written in publications such as Foreign Policy and International Affairs.
