Sarah Raine

Research Fellow for Chinese Foreign and Security Policy

 

Responsibilities:   Research on Asia’s rising powers, with a particular focus on the nature, intention, and geo-political consequences of China’s and India’s deepening engagement with Africa.

 

Background:   Sarah Raine has a first class degree in History and an MPhil in International Relations from Cambridge University.  She previously worked for eight years in the UK’s Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO).  In 2007 she left the FCO to move to Singapore, from where she is now conducting her research for IISS-Asia.
