Nicholas Redman is the Editor of the Adelphi book series, the Institute’s principal contribution to policy-relevant research, and the Managing Director of Arundel Strategic Consultancy, which provides bespoke analysis and briefings to government and corporate clients. He joined the IISS from the Economist Intelligence Unit, where from 2005-10 he was editor in chief of ViewsWire, a daily online service providing political and economic analysis, plus data and forecasts, for over 200 countries and regions. Before that, he was Eastern Europe/CIS editor for ViewsWire and in 1999-2002 performed a similar role for the consultancy Oxford Analytica.

He received his BA (Hons) in International Relations and Strategic Studies (First Class) from Lancaster University, where he was awarded the Longman/PA Reynolds International Relations prize, an M.Phil in International Relations from Queens’ College, Cambridge and a D.Phil in International Relations from St Antony’s College, Oxford. After completing his graduate studies, he lectured for a year at the Department of War Studies, King’s College, London.
