Consulting Senior Fellow
Dr Mats Berdal is an IISS Consulting Senior Fellow, associated with the Economics and Conflict Resolution Programme. He is Professor of Security and Development in the Department of War Studies at King's College London. From 2000 to 2003 he was Director of Studies at the IISS. He is a Visiting Professor at the National Defence and Command College, Oslo. Dr Berdal co-edited, with David M. Malone, Greed and Grievance: Economic Agendas in Civil Wars, and is now working on an Adelphi book for the IISS examining international efforts, from Bosnia to Iraq, to consolidate peace in the aftermath of war. He is also completing a book on the United Nations.
