Managing Director, IISS-US

  

Main Responsibilities:   

  • Has overall responsibility for the operations of the Washington, DC office, including coordination of finance, administration, and IT needs, and management of the intern program.

  • Works with the Executive Director of the IISS-US to:

           Develop the events program in the Washington, DC office;

           Devise and successfully implement strategies to secure sponsorships
           and donations, as well as funding to support research programs;

           Expand the Corporate Membership in the US;

           Promote IISS journals, books, and databases.

 

Background: Prior to joining IISS-US, Randy was Manager, National Security at the Markle Foundation, where he worked on cybersecurity, intelligence community information sharing, and technology policy issues.  He recently co-authored two Harvard Belfer Center reports on the Pakistani military, and was a DoD Adviser/Case Writer through the Belfer Center, writing about the Pakistani police.  Randy has an MPP from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University, where he was a Public Service and Belfer International and Global Affairs Fellow, and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Harvard College, where he won the Thomas T. Hoopes Prize for his senior thesis.  Randy also founded and is the Lead Producer/Director of Floating Films, his own film production company, and has produced award-winning documentaries on international issues.
