Eleanor Pitt

Dialogues and Middle East Coordinator; Special Assistant, IISS Middle East 

 

Main Responsibilities: As well as acting as the  coordinator of the Manama Dialogue and Bahrain Global Forum, Eleanor is the main liaison between Bahrain and the other IISS offices, organising IISS–Middle East office events and conferences, coordinating regional media outreach, and supporting the membership drive in the Middle East
 

Background:  Eleanor graduated from Bristol University with a BA First Class Honours in Theology and Religious Studies, and from the School of Oriental and African Studies with a Masters degree in Near and Middle East Studies. Following classical Arabic study during university, Eleanor has since completed a number Arabic courses both regionally and internationally, and wasawarded the Kathryn Davis Fellowship to study in the 2010 Arabic Language School intensive immersion programme at Middlebury College.
