Dialogues and Middle East Coordinator; Executive Assistant to the Director General
Main Responsibilities: Eleanor is the main Arundel House point of contact for Middle East interests and her role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities related to the Middle East at the IISS. Acting as a pivot between its directors in Washington and London, she assists in the organisation of their Middle East activities and also the initiatives driven by the Middle East programme, from coordinating events to assisting in research. Also, providing full support to the Director by working with his Special Assistant across the full range of her duties.
Background: Eleanor graduated from the University of Bristol with First Class Honours in Theology and Religious Studies. In 2006 she was awarded the Research Preparation Master’s Award from the Arts and Humanities Research Council and so continued her focus on Islamic studies and Arabic at the School of Oriental and African Studies, completing a Master’s degree in Near and Middle East Studies in 2007.
