Main Responsibilities:

Assists with the planning, organisation and execution of the IISS-Shangri-La Dialogue and other IISS events, including IISS-Asia seminars and workshops in Singapore and elsewhere.

Provides support for IISS-Asia research and fundraising activities.
Background: Born and raised in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Yi Jian moved to Singapore to further his tertiary studies and graduated with a BSocSci (Hons) in Political Science from the National University of Singapore (NUS). Prior to joining the IISS, he worked as a research assistant and part-time tutor in the Political Science Department at NUS, assisting with research in political philosophy and international political theory. He had also interned with the Ministry of Manpower, Singapore. He is bilingual in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
