Conference Officer and Project Coordinator
Main Responsibilities:
- Coordination and liaison with IISS London, Singapore and Middle East offices in support of Middle East conferences
- Coordination with IISS London and other IISS offices on IISS programming and research activities pertaining to the Middle East
- Assist on membership and outreach activities
- Assistance with IISS research activities, including the Iraq assassination project
Background: Prior to joining the IISS, Becca Wasser worked as a Research Assistant at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy, concentrating on terrorism and Middle East policy. Prior to the Washington Institute, she worked as a Research Assistant at Brandeis University, focusing on human rights and religion in the Middle East. She has also interned with Human Rights Watch in New York. Rebecca received a BA, cum laude, in International and Global Studies and Islamic and Middle Eastern Studies from Brandeis University. She received high honors from the Islamic and Middle Eastern Studies Department for her senior thesis on Iraq.
