A delegation of senior Japanese officials from five ministries (including the newly restyled Ministry of Defence) visited IISS-Asia on 16 August under the auspices of the Singapore International Foundation’s Raffles Programme, which aims to foster Japan-Singapore relations. In a dialogue session chaired by IISS-Asia Executive Director Dr Tim Huxley, the officials discussed regional and international security issues with local IISS members and Singapore-based diplomats. The focus was on Japan’s evolving role in the Asia-Pacific.
