In this upcoming Adelphi book, published by The International Institute for Strategic Studies, Jonathan D. Pollack analyses at the Kim family's deep investment in nationalism and nuclear capability in the context of the great poilitical upheavals of the Cold War, and collapse of the USSR and the rise of China. The book looks at the events and ideas that shaped North Korean identity, as well as the factors influencing the great powers' reactions.
