The IISS has long been an international organisation. At present has offices in London, Washington and Singapore. The offices keep the IISS in close touch with its members, recruit more individual and corporate members, raise funds, and develop research and conference activities that engage government officials, business people, analysts and opinion-formers. Regional directors of the IISS offices in Washington and in Singapore are responsible for securing funding for research programmes. These offices have their own Board of Directors and are linked to the ideals of the IISS Mission Statement.
The IISS is presently in discussion with officials in other countries, to explore the opportunities for expanding its global reach consistent with the IISS Mission Statement.
