On 17 June 2004 a group of senior Indian defence journalists visited the IISS.
They included Mr Rajat Pandit, Special Correspondent, The Times of India, Mr Sandeep Dikshit, Correspondent, The Hindu, Mr Srinjoy Chowdhury, Special Representative, The Statesman, Mr Ajai Shukla, Special Correspondent, New Delhi Television, and Mr Josy Joseph, Chief Correspondent, Rediff. The group was briefed by Dr Gary Samore, IISS Director of Studies, Mr Rahul Roy-Chaudhury, IISS Research Fellow for South Asia, Colonel Christopher Langton, IISS Head of Defence Analysis Department, Editor of The Military Balance and Research Fellow for Russia/CIS, and Mr Chris Smith, Senior Research Fellow, International Policy Institute, King’s College, London.
