On 6 October 2004 Lt. General Syed Shujaat Hussain (retd.), Rector of the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), Rawalpindi, and Mr Javed Jabbar, Honorary Chairman, International Institute for Peace and Conflict Resolution (IIPCR), Rawalpindi, visited the IISS.
During the visit Lt. General Syed Shujaat Hussain (retd.) and Mr Javed Jabbar met Sir Hilary Synnott, IISS Consulting Senior Fellow, Mr Rahul Roy-Chaudhury, IISS Research Fellow for South Asia, and Colonel Christopher Langton, IISS Head of Defence Analysis Department, Editor of The Military Balance and Research Fellow for Russia/CIS.
