On 17 June 2004 Lt. General J.J. Singh, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, HQ Western Command, Indian Army, Chandimandir, visited the IISS.
During his visit General J. J. Singh met Dr Gary Samore, IISS Director of Studies, Mr Rahul Roy-Chaudhury, IISS Research Fellow for South Asia, Mr Alex Nicoll, IISS Assistant Director and Senior Fellow for Defence Industry and Procurement, and Colonel Christopher Langton, IISS Head of Defence Analysis Department, Editor of The Military Balance and Research Fellow for Russia/CIS.
